The Official Ice Candle Thread
«

We seem to have a whole bunch of threads going about ice candles so why not one more?
I made a couple of new candles and took a bunch of picts of the whole process and put them online at:

I used blue jello for these ones and it did tint the ice but also clouded it. Hard to beat nice clear ice for an ice candle but I may try the beet juice method and see how that works tonight.

Almost 60 F in VA. No ice candles this Christmas
Will be in St John for the New Year and I know I can't make them there
They are sooooooo cool - I hope we have one (just one) cold snap so I can try again.

Funny weather here. Too cold and then too warm to make them but had a couple of good nights this week so I should have a full quota for xmas. Likely be a cold snap here from now until May so I'll probably have them for a while. We're heading to the BVI's in February for a warm up.
Saw your posts on TTOL about St. John. Sounds like a great trip and no better way to start a New Year!
